2. Nature of the Service

Historic Mentor is an AI-powered platform that simulates conversations with historical personas (e.g., Marcus Aurelius, Sun Tzu) for educational, reflective, and entertainment purposes.

All mentors are powered by AI and are fictionalized representations. Nothing shared during sessions should be construed as medical, psychological, financial, or legal advice.

3. Eligibility

To use Historic Mentor, you must:

Be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction)
‍
Accept and comply with these Terms and all applicable local, state, national, and international laws

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

Use the platform for lawful, respectful, and appropriate purposes
‍
Not misuse, hack, or reverse engineer our platform or third-party services
‍
Not upload or share harmful, misleading, or offensive content during sessions
‍
Take sole responsibility for your actions and decisions based on session output

We reserve the right to remove users who violate these expectations.

5. Third-Party Services

Historic Mentor relies on several integrated third-party services to deliver your experience.

You acknowledge and consent to your data being processed and shared securely across these tools to deliver the Service. Each service has its own privacy policy and complies with its respective regulatory obligations.

6. Data, Privacy & Consent

By using Historic Mentor, you consent to the collection and processing of:

Personally identifiable information (name, email, phone, profile picture, bio)

Session data (recordings, transcripts, summaries)
‍
Behavioral and technical usage data

You acknowledge that sessions may include sensitive information (e.g., health, location, beliefs), and that this is stored for personalization and recap purposes.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on Historic Mentor — including AI prompts, mentor scripts, voice assets, video streams/recordings, branding, and UX — is the intellectual property of Historic Mentor or its licensors.

You may not reproduce, repurpose, resell, or redistribute any part of the Service without explicit written permission.

If sharing downloaded recordings or manual screen recordings of your video sessions online (such as a podcast, social media post, YouTube video, etc.) we require:

A Small, Low Opacity Historic Mentor Logo/Watermark – Overlayed, easily visible, and reasonably sized on the mentor’s video box at all times (i.e. in the bottom left hand corner or top center)

OR

Proper Attribution

Minimum Required Attribution: “Conversational Avatar Technology by Historic Mentor” – Listed in podcast show notes, YouTube description, social media captions, etc.

8. Payment Terms

Some features of Historic Mentor require a paid subscription. By subscribing, you agree to:

Pay the fees as listed, recurring monthly or annually
‍
Cancel before your renewal date to avoid new charges
‍
Accept our no-refund policy unless otherwise stated in writing

All transactions are securely processed via Stripe.

9. Disclaimer of Liability

You use Historic Mentor at your own risk. We do not guarantee the factual accuracy of AI-generated responses or session output. You acknowledge that:

AI mentors are simulated characters, not licensed professionals
‍
Session content is not guaranteed to be accurate, up-to-date, or applicable to your personal situation
‍
Any decisions made based on AI content are solely your responsibility

We are not liable for:

Data breaches involving third-party platforms
‍
Damages resulting from reliance on AI-generated information
‍
Service interruptions, bugs, or delays

10. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if you:

Violate these Terms

Misuse or abuse the platform or community
‍
Pose a security or integrity risk to our systems
